Valentine's Day

So a Valentine's post is better late than never, right?

I kept meaning to post this... and somehow it's been over a week. I need to find a time to etch out for focusing on blogging, communicating, and staying organized all together. I have been really horrible responding to emails- intermittent on facebook, and obviously pretty inconsistent blogging. Well... I will work on it, but I'm just feeling exhausted. I'm not sure if it's winter, lack of a normal schedule, or what- but when I have a day off- which is usually one at a time, I just want to relax. I tend to watch movies, nap, bake, and maybe clean. I don't even like leaving the house. I am sure once spring finally hits- all of that will change- but currently this terrible winter just makes me feel like hibernating.

Ok- so on to Valentine's day. I took the day off so that Joel and I could spend the day together. Joel has been gone off and on for the last month, so it was really nice to have a day to just do whatever we wanted. AND, the best part of being married is that we felt no obligation to go out or even get dressed! I stayed in my jammies alllll day! Joel made an amazing meal. Steak and shrimp, homemade mashed potatoes, asparagus and salad. For desert we had fruit and a chocolate fountain. Yummm.

I bought Joel an Apple TV for his V-day present. It has been awesome! I love having easy access to netflix! Between that and our sweet cable package- you can see why I don't leave the house anymore. Haha. Joel bought me the chocolate fountain and a floor length mirror and roses.

It was a great relaxed Valentine's evening. We watched one of our favorite movies, Ocean's 11.

Oh, and the picture of us is pretty much the best one we took. It sums us up. And- as you can see, I wasn't kidding about being in my jammies.

Plume.

So as promised, here are some pictures from the Plume shoot. Plume makes feather hair extensions that are really cool. I have kept a few in since this shoot- and have been loving them. I get lots of compliments on them too! :)

The shoot was really great. These photos were taken by Ryan McVay and make up was done by Glynne Davies. Everyone involved was really nice and the day was a nice break from routine. I mean, who doesn't like getting their make up done and having pictures taken! Fun, right? It was all made possible by Camiguin Foster who is a good friend of my sister-in-law, Emily.

These are the other two models, the first, Anastasiya, and then my sister-in-law, Emily Clare!

Today I made some red velvet cupcakes. I am going to take them into work tomorrow. :) Little pre-Valentine's treat for the ladies.

Also got some errands done. Dry cleaning, bank, Nordie's returns. Dry cleaning is a bit of sore subject. I took a dress in last week because I got dry erase marker on it. (The top is a cream silk.) She couldnt get it out. :( AND she didn't get out any of the other little spots... (some soda- and normal discoloration from wear.) So- I took it back. I knew that she prob. couldn't get the marker out- but the rest should have been no big deal. She doesn't speak English very clearly- so I hope she realized that I was upset with her and wanted her to fix it... but we shall see when I go to pick it up on Wednesday. Oh, did I mention it's my favorite dress. It's the one that I wore in our engagement pictures. Here's hoping she doesn't cut it up into little pieces.

Stay stainless my friends,

Still a bad blogger...

I'm still a bad blogger. Sorry.

Joel is gone again... pretty much has been gone most of January and now this week of Feb.

Today I am watching the Super Bowl solo at home. I love our TV- it makes everything look amazing.

Last night I went out with some friends. We went to Pesos and had dinner and drinks and then went to the Vera Project. My friend Lwam really wanted to see Brian Greenberg sing- (He is actually an actor- One Tree Hill, Prime, Bride Wars, October Road... etc.) It was pretty hilarious. it felt like high school- but good for him. I am glad that he is able to pursue his passion.

We had a good time and it was so nice to get out of the house. I tend to spend my days off lounging around the house or doing errands. It's good to actually make plans and DO something, you know?

Here's a picture from last night. Those are my cute friends, Lwam and Meghan.

Tonight I might bake something. But I can't really decide. Maybe tomorrow. I have Monday off too. :)

Enjoy your Sunday!

Bad Blogger.

So, I've been a bad blogger lately.

But every time I try to write a blog I always find myself without anything to say. Or, what I do have to say is whiney.

Not much has been happening- work, sleep, eat, work, eat, sleep... etc.

However, yesterday was really fun. I was a hair model for a company called Plume. It was really neat. Hopefully pictures will be done soon so I can show you- but basically they are feather extensions for your hair to add a bit of pizazz. The shoot was in a studio in SODO and my sister-in-law was also a hair model. We had a blast, and everyone working on the shoot was really nice.

Today I am fighting a bit of a cold- hoping that it will go away before my husband gets back. Joel has been gone all week. (And last week). He will be home for a week... and then leave again for a week. It sucks.

Last week was my birthday! Joel was gone for the actual day but when he came home he took me out for a really really great birthday date. We went to El Guacho- which is beyond delicious- highly recommend. After dinner, we went downstairs to the Big Picture and watched the Green Hornet with cocktails in hand. It was really fun. Oh, AND, my husband decided to spoil me by buying me a new purse!!! Which I LOVE! I should have him take some fancy pics of it to post on here when he gets home. :)

Alright, hoping everyone is enjoying their weekend. I will be working, sleeping, eating- and repeating. again.

Love,

Pumpkin Bread, The Tooth Fairy and Spirit

I made a DEEEELISH pumpkin bread the other night. I happen to love pumpkin bread. I almost always get a slice at Starbucks- and never refuse a pumpkin bar when offered. So, I decided to use my last can of pumpkin for some pumpkin bread.

I used this recipe for the pumpkin bread. So so easy and like they say, it gets better after a day or so. :)

I have had a couple of days off and have done absolutely nothing. (Not totally true, but mostly.) For some reason I have decided that my days off should be devoted to being sooo lazy. Not sure if I am just worn out, or if it's the weather, or lack of friends... but I just love staying home and vegging out.

Yesterday I got caught on HBO Family while scrolling through the channels. It's pretty sad and hilarious- but I ended up watching The Tooth Fairy- in it's entirety. Starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. It had some surprising cameos- Julie Andrews, Billy Crystal, Seth McFarlane. I didn't hate it, for a kid's movie that is.

The truly tragic part was that I then got stuck on the follow up movie.... Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. Yuuup. In my defense, I was in the kitchen when it came on, and I heard Matt Damon's voice. So naturally I looked to the tv to see what movie had just come on... and then I saw an animated horse. I got sucked into that... and then once I realized what I was watching, I was too invested- and saw that it was pretty short- just over an hour, so I stuck it out. Not bad. Honestly. Reminded me a lot of Pocahontas- familiar story of how the white man is a hater and the indians are really good looking and way cooler. I guess it was a Dreamworks movie, but the animation had a Disney wannabe style. Anyways...

So, pretty awesome day. In my opinion. I also cleaned, took down the christmas tree, did laundry, changed the sheets, vacuumed, and made a delicious homemade dinner.

Alright. So those are some movie reviews for movies that you will never watch... but, now you know.

Still on my hunt to find vacations...

Happy Thursday,
